THE PERFECT PARTNERSHIP!
HAS YOUR SCHOOL
ADOPTED A FOODBANK YET?

It's really easy to do!

STEP 1: Find a food bank in your community, you can do this by calling your City Hall or your community Police Department and asking them for a recommendation of a reputable food-bank that serves the needs of the community.

STEP 2:  Come up with a plan on how to raise money or collect cans for your foodbank for the year.

SOME IDEAS:
WEEKLY DONUT DAY or BAKE SALES AT SCHOOL
Selling donuts one day a week at school or doing weekly bake sales will actually raise about $100-$200 every week for your foodbank.

Krispy Kreme has a great fundraising program, where you buy the donuts at a really cheap price and sell them for the regular price.  You will be amazed at how many kids are happy to buy donuts to support a good cause!  This is the link for Krispy Kreme's fundraising program.

TEACHER/PRINCIPAL KISS THE PIG - CAN FOOD DRIVE:
Challenge your school's student body to a goal of a certain number of cans, if the goal is met, then have your principal kiss a pig infont of the students.  Make this a week long food drive and announce the numbers every morning. Also set a goal to make individual teachers kiss the pig.  If the goal  of that number of cans is met for that teachers classroom, that  teacher has to kiss the pig!   Call a petting zoo for one day rental on a baby piglet.

LOOSE CHANGE DAY:
Set up a day for everyone at school to bring all the loose change from home to school.  You'll be amazed at how much money you can raise for your food bank.

REMEMBER:
You can use the funds you raise to buy cans
for your foodbank if you prefer that to donating cash.

STEP 3:  Community Service Hours or Volunteering for your FoodBank.
Most schools require that students perform community service hours, this is a great way for students to get their service hours and to support your foodbank.  Ask your foodbank what day's and how many volunteers they need for each day.  Create a chart of days and spaces for volunteers to sign up.  Have directions on the sign up sheet and post it in the office.  Make sure that the foodbank has alot of community service forms from your school with the important information already filled out for them (of course without name, hours or date).  This will make it easier for the FoodBank to make sure everyone gets their service hours!
